Participation in TOKYO PROTOTYPE as a Material Provider for ZOZO NEXT’s Exhibition

Yamamoto Chemicals, Inc. has provided its polarized yarn material—created using our proprietary functional dyes—for two artworks exhibited by ZOZO NEXT, Inc. at “TOKYO PROTOTYPE,” an urban creative festival held at Toranomon Hills from January 29 (Thu.) to 31 (Sat.), 2026.

This exhibition explores how Japan’s traditional crafts might evolve through contemporary technology, showcasing collaborative creations developed by designers and master artisans. Our material is featured in two works jointly produced by ZOZO NEXT and creators: “Come and go mad” and “Magichour” (a hanging-scroll artwork). The artwork captions include “Production Cooperation: Yamamoto Chemicals, Inc.” offering a valuable opportunity to present the potential of new textile expressions enabled by functional dyes.

Our polarized yarn—developed with our unique functional dye technologies—exhibits color changes depending on the angle of light. This characteristic lends itself not only to fashion applications but also to art, spatial design, and other creative fields.

Yamamoto Chemicals will continue to take on challenges beyond conventional industrial domains, pursuing new avenues of value creation and further expanding the possibilities of innovative material technologies.
